Read More	Bower E. Rudrud, 84, Bismarck, died May 1, 2006 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Bower Eugene Rudrud was born on January 12, 1922, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. His family moved to Bismarck in the 1930s where he attended Bismarck Senior High School. It was at Bismarck High that he met and began dating Alice Stoen, the lady who would later become his wife. Bower graduated from high school in 1941. He married Alice Stoen on December 24, 1942, in Douglas, Arizona, while serving in the Army Air Corps. They had 63 wonderful years together. Bower, with his wife, Alice, opened Rudrud Studio of Photography in 1951 in Bismarck and ran a successful business there for 32 years. He was Past President of Professional Photographers of North Dakota, and a Life Member of Professional Photographers of America. He was Master of Photography and won many awards for his work. Bower made two wildlife films during his career in addition to his studio portraiture. His film "Treasures of East Africa" was shot during three trips to Africa. He also made "The Albatross of Midway Island" during the early 1970s. He showed these films extensively in the United States and Canada, sponsored by the National Audubon Society. He was a member of Bismarck Rotary Club and the Bismarck Elks Club for many years. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying his Cessna 140 from his runway behind his cottage at Lake Isabel. Bower and Alice have a winter home in Fountain Hills, Arizona but his favorite place was their cottage at Lake Isabel. He was a veteran of World War II, US Army Air Corps, stationed at Douglas Army Airfield in Arizona. Among his other interests were scuba diving and underwater photography in the Caribbean Sea and sailplane lessons in Arizona. He had many interests and fully enjoyed his life. In his later years he always looked forward to meeting his friends at White Drug in downtown Bismarck for coffee and joining his pilot buddies at the airport every Saturday to chat. Bower leaves his wife, Alice; two sons, David (and daughter-in-law, Sherry) and Eric; two grandsons, Greg (and his wife, Brenda) and Peter (and his wife, Tyra); and five great-grandchildren, Corey, Delaney, Cameron, Quinn and Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anna; his brother, Al; and two sisters, Ann and May. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
