Description	:	Boyd B. "Bud" Bobo, age 80 of Athens died Monday, May 19, 2014 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus. Born April 2, 1934 in Athens County, he was the son of the late Elmer E. & Mary Downey Bobo. A 1953 graduate of Shade High School, he retired from McBee Corporation in Athens. He was also self-employed in the general construction business. He was a member of Hocking Valley Sportsman Association and the Shade Community Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany. "Bud" Bobo, age 80 of Athens died Monday, May 19, 2014 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus. Born April 2, 1934 in Athens County, he was the son of the late Elmer E. & Mary Downey Bobo. A 1953 graduate of Shade High School, he retired from McBee Corporation in Athens. He was also self-employed in the general construction business. He was a member of Hocking Valley Sportsman Association and the Shade Community Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany. Boyd is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Withers Bobo; two daughters, Laura Jean Bobo of Athens and Marianna Carson of Athens; a grandson, Sean Bobo of Athens; a daughter in law, Angela Bobo of Athens; two brothers, Elmer of Abingdon, Va. and James (Lucille) of North Canton; sisters in law, Peggy (Jerry) Jagers of Athens, Linda (Jude) Hedrick of Heath; brother in law, Russ Flint of New Albany, Indiana; a special friend, Warnie Foster of Athens; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Eric Bobo; three sisters- Bernice Gaston, Lucille Baker and Mary Ferne Pierce; two brothers, Dan and Belford. Funeral service will be conducted Saturday 11:00am at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. Monte McCune. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 3-5 and 6-8pm at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by K.T. Crossen Post 21 American Legion, VFW Post 3477 and VFW Post 9893 Honor Guards at the cemetery.
