Description	:	Boyd's mother was Jessie Phidelia Mael who married Henry Nelson Vass in Missouri in 1895. Henry Vass was not Boyd's biological father. Unknown Source An obituary was published for Boyd in the “Ottumwa Courier,” on the day of his death. At the time of his death, he lived at 521 Queen Ann Ave., in Ottumwa. He died suddenly of a heart attack at 7:30 a.m. while fishing from a rowboat behind Molly’s Restaurant. Boyd married Vivian Putman in June 1918 in Cincinnati, Iowa. He was an Ottumwa garageman and mechanic for many years prior to his retirement. He was fleet superintendent for Lowenberg Bakery from 1940 to 1951. In 1957 he headed the service and repair department of Wapello Motors. He had been in poor health for several months.
