Description	:	Bradford Dean Swisher was born June 15, 1957, at Susan B. Anthony Hospital in El Dorado to Dean and Nancy Swisher. Brad moved to Gypsum with his family at an early age. Brad spent his childhood and growing-up years in Gypsum with his sister, Brenda; brother, Brian; and later his sister, Rose Ann, joined the family. Brad enjoyed growing up in a small town, with friends and the freedom to explore and play. Brad was a member of First Baptist Church, of Gypsum. He made a Confession of Faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized in this church.... Read More	Bradford Dean Swisher was born June 15, 1957, at Susan B. Anthony Hospital in El Dorado to Dean and Nancy Swisher. Brad moved to Gypsum with his family at an early age. Brad spent his childhood and growing-up years in Gypsum with his sister, Brenda; brother, Brian; and later his sister, Rose Ann, joined the family. Brad enjoyed growing up in a small town, with friends and the freedom to explore and play. Brad was a member of First Baptist Church, of Gypsum. He made a Confession of Faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized in this church. Brad loved to travel and took many vacations with his family across the U.S. Brad made two trips to Europe, the first trip with his parents, where they traveled, among other places, to France. They visited Verdun and France, where Brad's father had spent two years while in the Army. They also walked the beaches of Normandy, where his uncle Gerald had taken part in the invasion of France in World War II. Brad's second trip to Europe was solo and included Spain in his itinerary. Brad chose an avocation as an over-the-road truck driver. He traveled to every state in the continental United States, plus three provinces in Canada. Brad loved driving a truck and found adventure in all his travels. Brad lived for many years in California, Seattle and Florida. For the past several years, he has resided in Salina and Gypsum. Survivors include his parents, Dean and Nancy Swisher, of Gypsum; two sisters, Brenda Peterson and husband John, and Rose Ann Taylor and partner Gene Talbot; one brother, Brian Swisher, all of Salina; three nieces; and three nephews. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, with the family present from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth St., Salina. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gypsum Baptist Church, Gypsum, with the Rev. Dave Walters officiating. Burial will be private in the Gypsum Valley Cemetery, Gypsum. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to the church. (ryanmortuary.com/obituary)
