The accident was contained to the median, and there were no traffic snares on account of the accident. Gangwish was thrown from the motorcycle and died due to his injuries before any police were on the scene, Allen said. Officials were on the scene for around 21Ž2 hours. Gangwish's death marks the 129th death on Nebraska roads this year, compared to 74 by May 26, 2001. 2nd Story: A Shelton bank president killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday was willing to help anyone, a co-worker said Tuesday. Brad N. Gangwish, 46, of Shelton died after the accident at the Interstate 80 Wood River interchange. He was president and chief executive officer of the First State Bank of Shelton. Monica Lovelace of Shelton is operations manager and cashier at the bank. "He would be willing to go out on a limb to help anyone," Lovelace said Tuesday. "We're kind of all in shock." Lovelace had known Gangwish for about 26 years and described him as a very loving and giving person. The bank has 10 employees, she said. Karin Walsh of Shelton is Gangwish's sister and works at the bank as an assistant cashier. The Gangwish family has owned the bank since the early 1970s, she said. Her father, Dwight Gangwish, was president and chief executive officer at the bank before her brother assumed the position. "We all want our community to know the bank will remain in family hands. We will not change any more than necessary to keep the bank running. Home-owned banks are what keep Nebraska strong," Walsh said. Walsh said her brother had worked at the bank for 15 to 20 years and was very community-oriented. "He was a blessing to know," she said. Brad Gangwish was a 1973 graduate of Shelton High School and also a graduate of Kearney State College. He was a member of the Shelton United Methodist Church, the Christian Motorcycle Association, Nebraska Leadership Education/Action Development (LEAD) program, People and Animals Working in Sync and the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife, Crystal of Shelton; his parents, Dwight and Lois Gangwish of Shelton; one brother and sister-in-law, Vaughn and Irene Gangwish of Albuquerque, N.M.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Karin and Dave Walsh of Shelton.
