She married John Koenen Brouwer in Rorichum around 1848 and together they were parents to at least seven children, all born in the Veenhusen area: Harmke (Oct 1848), Ettje, Hindertje, Grietje, Brechje, Koene, and Hinderk. According to family lore, the family arrived in the USA in 1863 and settled near Forreston, Ogle County, Illinois. They later moved to Grundy County, Iowa.
