Brack Perry, one of Shelby countys highly respected citizens, died at his home in Shelbyville, Thursday evening, May 15, 1913, at 7 o'clock, as a result from erysipelas with a complication of other disease after a brief illness of about two weeks duration, aged 47 years, 5 months and 17 days. Deceased was born in Shelby county November 28, 1865; was a son of Ambrose C. and Elizabeth Perry; was married to Miss Laberta Caldwell in November, 1889. To this union were born five children, who, together with his wife survive him. Mr. Perry in 1906 was elected Sheriff of Shelby county and moved to Shelbyville from his farm near Leonard, where he has since resided. In 1908 he was re-elected sheriff for a term of four years without opposition, from which office he retired last January, and needless to say he made Shelby county one of the best officials ever sworn into service. As a man he had few superiors--everyone thought well of him, and in return he was a true friend of his admirers. The funeral services were held from the Christian church in Shelbyville Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. Ralph E. Alexander. Interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery under the auspices of that order. (Contributed by Paula D)
