She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Ivy Lee Smith and Alice Davenport Smith, a sister, Jacqueline Webb, and a brother, David Earl Smith. Her survivors include her husband of 41 years, Henry Donald Parrish, Sr., daughter, Lois Parrish of Greenville and JoAnne Parrish Smith of Pinetops, sons, David Earl Smith Parrish of Greenville and Henry Donald Parrish, Jr. of the home. She is survived by her sister, Janet Griffin and nephew, Lonnie Griffin, her nephews, Samuel Smith of Tarboro, Jimmy Webb of Bethel, Al Webb of Macclesfield, Randy Webb of Tarboro, her nieces, Lois Griffin of Bethel and Darlene Hobgood of Macclesfield. She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; grandchildren, Monica Parrish of Greenville, Monique Jones of the home, Rodney Hill of the home, Kimberly Parrish and David Earl Smith Parrish, Jr. of Greenville, Bruce May and Robert Smith of Pinetops; great-grandchildren, Zah'Taevious Thigpen, Zay'Shawn Thigpen and Zosiah Thigpen, all of the home. Brenda Faye centered her life on her family and she loved and cared for us her entire life. She opened her home and her heart to all who knew her. She has such an extensive list of people who love and will miss her deeply. Mama will forever be in our hearts and we will never forgot the life lessons you taught us. We are strong, because of you and we will go forth and put your love into action in the world. We love you always and forever. We would like to thank the staff of Vidant Medical Center and Vidant Inpatient Hospice for all the care they provided during the last two weeks of our mama's life.
