EDWARD, NY: Brenda Bruso Leonard, age 76, died Friday, April 27, 2018, at her home in Ft. Edward, NY. Mrs. Leonard was born in Rupert, VT on May 23, 1941. She was the daughter of Audrey Varney. She has been a Ft. Edward Resident since 2004 moving here from Clemons, NY. October 9, 1959, she married Leo Lloyd Bruso in Castleton. They made their home in the West Rutland and Ira area for many years. Mrs. Leonard had worked for more than 25 years, in the Preliminary Press Plate Department, at Moore’s Business Forms in Rutland. She retired in 1995. She and her late husband: Leo Bruso; had owned and operated Carousel Park Camp Ground in Clemons, NY until his death in 2003. She loved music especially Blue Grass and enjoyed attending many Blue Grass Festivals. Surviving is her daughter; Lee Ann Bruso, and her son Leo L. Bruso, Jr both of Rutland, 4 sisters; Bernice Toxqui and Gloria Bishop both of Charlotte, NC, Marie Monroe of Rutland and Val Perry of Benson and her former husband; Jim Leonard of Ft. Edward; with whom she shared a home. 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. In addition to her husband Leo, she was also pre-deceased by a son; Carl L. Bruso in 1995, 2 brothers; Lee Traverse and Bernard Bishop and a sister Phyllis Bishop. The graveside committal service and burial will take place, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 10 AM, at the family lot, in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven, VT. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; Rutland Coalition to End Homelessness, BROC, 45 Union St. Rutland, VT 05701 or to the American Cancer Society, 121 Connor Way, Ste 240, P.O. Box 1460, Williston, VT 05493-1460.
