Description	:	Ms. Brenda Joyce Manning, 63, of Harrisonburg, died at 6:57 Wednesday morning, January 12, 2005, at her home in Harrisonburg. She had not been well for the past 3-½ years. A daughter of Fleta Cassidy Manning Shifflett and the late Lester Manning, she was born on Dec. 29, 1941 in Harrisonburg where she lived the majority of her life. A daughter of Fleta Cassidy Manning Shifflett and the late Lester Manning, she was born on Dec. 29, 1941 in Harrisonburg where she lived the majority of her life. Ms. Manning attended Corning Community College and Bridgewater College and was employed in real estate sales. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Rion-Bowman VFW Post 632, the American Legion and Harrisonburg Moose Lodge. Surviving are a daughter, Eleanor King Hughes and husband Scott of Harrisonburg; one son, Matthew Wilcox and wife Renee, of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Seaira Hughes; and Logan and Paige Wilcox; her mother, Mrs. Fleta Shifflett of Harrisonburg and two brothers, Eddie Manning and Donald Manning, both of Corning, NY. She was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Moore. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday morning from the Chapel of the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodbine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 Friday evening at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Rockingham Memorial Hospice or the Cancer Center, in her memory. Daily News-Record, January 14, 2005
