Funeral services were held April 29 at First United Methodist Church of Wauneta, Neb., with Pastor Michael Laing officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta. Ms. Theobald died April 25 at Aurora Medical Center in Aurora, Colo. She was born Feb. 25, 1948, to George "Dale" and Phyllis Laverne (Kitt) Theobald. As a youngster she moved with her family to Lisco, Neb., where she began grade school. She then moved to Powell, where she continued her education and graduated from Powell High School in 1966. Ms. Theobald attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Neb., and received her bachelor of arts degree in education. Her teaching career led her first to Globe, Ariz., where she taught for a year. She then moved to Douglas where she taught for 26 years. Ms. Theobald was teaching grades 6-8 at Douglas Middle School at the time of her death. She enjoyed many hobbies, including bird watching, golf and reading. She loved to travel. Ms. Theobald touched many lives through her teaching and will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her father George "Dale" Theobald in 1969 and sister D'Ann Johnson in 1998. She is survived by her mother Phyllis Theobald of Imperial, Neb.; brother Kent Theobald and wife Pat of Sacramento, Calif.; niece Angela Johnson of Mesa, Ariz.; nephew Ty Theobald of Fresno, Calif.; aunt and uncle Joyce and Emerson Schwenk of Wauneta, Neb.; aunt Donnaline Kitt of Wauneta; aunt Pat Kitt of Grand Island, Neb.; and aunt Delores Mohler of Colorado Springs, Colo.
