Description	:	Brenda (Ludwigs) Sjovall, 42, of Beresford, South Dakota, and formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. Rev. Greg Myrmoe will officiate. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Le Mars. Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 22, at 2:00 p.m., with the family present from 4:00 to 8:00 and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service on Monday. Brenda was born to David and Ramona (Heeren) Ludwigs on April 11, 1974, in Le Mars. She attended school in Le Mars, graduating from Le Mars Community High School in 1992. She married Jeremy Sjovall on April 22, 1994, in Le Mars. The couple lived in Elk Point, South Dakota, later moving to an acreage near Beresford. Brenda attended Le Mars Beauty College, graduating in October 1996. She and Jeremy were blessed with daughter Cassidy on April 24, 2001. Brenda earned a medical transcription certificate from WIT. She did medical transcription for many years. In July 2013, Brenda was diagnosed with cancer. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life - nature, music, attending concerts, and being a housewife and mother to Cassidy. Brenda’s life will always be cherished, loved, and honored by her family, which includes her husband Jeremy and daughter Cassidy of Beresford; parents, David and Ramona Ludwigs, Le Mars; sister, Sheila Ludwigs, Le Mars; parents-in-law, Jim and Carol Sjovall, Sioux City; brothers-in-law, Justin (Alison) Sjovall, Cranston, Rhode Island, and Jay Sjovall, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Brenda may be gone, but the ones we love never truly leave us.
