Honorary bearers were all of Brent’s coffee buddies. Brent LaVerne Anderson was born November 12, 1935, the son of Lester and Isabelle (McDaniel) Anderson, at Carrington. He was raised in the Glenfield area and graduated from Glenfield High School in 1953. Brent spent the following summer surveying roads for the ND Highway Department with his uncle Russ McDaniel. From 1953 until 1955 Brent served in the US Army stationed in Germany. After his tour of duty he attended the University of North Dakota. On January 19, 1959, Brent was united in marriage to Janice Crowston at Langdon ND. They made their home in Grand Forks where he worked for Straus Company. In 1970 they moved to the family farm. After farming for a number of years, Brent branched out into custom harvesting, and later began custom grain hauling. Brent enjoyed several years as a 4-H leader, contributing his time, patience, and sense of humor to area youth. He was a member of the Jaycees, VFW, American Legion, and US Custom Harvesters Association. Brent also served on the Eastman Township Board for many years. Survivors include his wife Janice of Courtenay; son Bradley of Courtenay; daughters Sheri (Neil) Hoyt of Devils Lake ND, Connie (Cory) Bultema of Eagan MN, Wendy (Chad) Frappier of Comstock WI, Judy (Lee) Gilbertson of Binford ND; nine grandchildren; sisters Linda (Roger) Kofstad of Hartland MN, Kay (Lou) Vymola of Cologne MN, Patti (Ray) Topp of Grace City ND.
