Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gloria and brother-in-law, Laurence DeWolfe. Having spent time in the RCAF during the 1950s, he developed a lifelong interest in flying and aviation history and for many years was the proud holder of a private pilot's license. Born March 23, 1935, in East River Point, Lunenburg Co., he was the son of the late Allen and Edna (Fleet) Cooke. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gloria and brother-in-law, Laurence DeWolfe. Having spent time in the RCAF during the 1950s, he developed a lifelong interest in flying and aviation history and for many years was the proud holder of a private pilot's license. During the 1970s he became a long-time instructor with Dale Carnegie & Associates and also earned from St. Mary s University his Canadian Industrial Management Diploma. In 1980, he founded and successfully operated the family business Flow Water Products Ltd. During semi-retirement his greatest joy was spending time with his family while enjoying travel and especially time spent at his special spot on St. Pete Beach, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley (MacKay); son, Jeffrey; daughter-in-law, Trish, Dartmouth; daughter, Jennifer; son-in-law, Craig Prall, Bedford; his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Cody Cooke, Jessica and Jonathan Prall. He is also survived by nieces, Linda Walbaum, Karen Miller; nephews, Brian and Greg DeWolfe, Edmonton. We invite you to join us for a memorial reception in the Georgian Lounge at the Lord Nelson Hotel on Friday, June 29, at 2 p.m. A private family service and interment will take place in his beloved East River Point at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice. To all who knew him well, his wit and sense of humour will remain a treasured memory.
