Arthur, 24, of Lebanon, MO., formerly of Grinnell, died Saturday morning, July 3, at University Hospitals in Iowa City of injuries he sustained in a mortorcycle accident near Marshalltown a few hours earlier. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home here with Revs. Peter and Allyson Sawtell, co-pastors of the Newburg-Chester parish, United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was at the Jackson Township Cemetery at Montezuma. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Arthur, he was born June 30, 1958, in Grinnell. He was raised on a farm near Newburg and attended Grinnell Schools. He moved with his family to Missouri in 1974 and graduated from Manfield High School in 1976. He was a member of the National Honor Society. In 1980, he graduated from Southwest Missouri State University at Springfiel. Following graduation, he joined the Federal Land Bank of St. Louis and served as a loan officer for the St. Joseph, MO., office for the past six months.
