Description	:	Brett Douglas Eden, the son of Jean Dougherty Eden of Massena, and Dennis Eden of Anita, was born on October 24, 1967 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa; and entered into rest at Blank Memorial Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on April 6, 1982 at the age of 14 years, 5 months, and 12 days. Brett was an active member of the 8th grade class at C & M Jr. High. He participated in baseball and served as manager of the Jr. High football and basketball teams. Read More	Brett Douglas Eden, the son of Jean Dougherty Eden of Massena, and Dennis Eden of Anita, was born on October 24, 1967 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa; and entered into rest at Blank Memorial Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on April 6, 1982 at the age of 14 years, 5 months, and 12 days. Those surviving are his mother, Jean of Massena; her fiance, Steve Osborn; his father Dennis Eden of Anita; grandparents: Dudley Dougherty; Betna Dougherty of Atlantic; Don & Lucille Eden of Anita; an aunt, Joan Erickson of Cumberland and her daughters Kelly, Kris, & Rana; and an uncle, Steve Eden & his children Jay and Emily, all of Anita. Brett is also survived by many good friends - both adult and youth - who understood his "ups and downs" and loved him still. The funeral service was held at the C & M High School in Massena, Iowa on Friday, April 9, 1982 at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Jack Singleton of the Massena United Methodist Church officiated. Casket bearers were Richard DeVore, Dan Brawe, Marvin Brown, Glen Wolford, Wally Holste, and Gary Maas. Honorary bearers were the C & M Class of 1986, Jason DeVore, Joey Holste, and Scott Dougherty. Music was provided by Jim Casey, pianist and Mike Amdor, vocalist. Selections sung were "Another Lullaby" and "Morning Has Broken." Interment was in the Massena Center Cemetery north of Massena.
