Description	:	Mrs. Britta Desbien, 69, died Saturday at her home here. She was born July 22, 1897 at Robinson, in Brown County, and had lived at Holton 25 years. Earlier she lived at Hiawatha. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church at Holton and the Altar Society at the church. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church at Holton and the Altar Society at the church. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Eugene Meier and Mrs. Russell Ireland, both of Holton and Mrs. George Kelley, Topeka; two sons, Wendell Desbien of the home and Carroll Desbien, Holton; two brothers, Dennis Lange, Hiawatha and Dr. Corinth Lange, Huntington, Indiana; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were at 10 a.m. today at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church at Holton. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Holton. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton. ~The Holton Recorder, September 19, 1966 Mrs. Britta Desbien, 69, passed away at her home Saturday noon, September, 17, 1966. She was born July 25, 1897 at Robinson, in Brown County, and had lived at Holton 25 years. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church at Holton, a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was active in church, working with the Altar Society. She was married to Phil Desbien June 14, 1916 at Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Desbien and a son, Laurel Phil Desbien. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Eugene Meier and Mrs. Russell Ireland, of Holton and Mrs. George Kelley, Topeka; two sons, Wendell Desbien of the home and Carroll Desbien, Holton; two brothers, Dennis Lange, Hiawatha and Dr. Corinth Lange, Huntington, Indiana; also 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on September 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Catholic church. Father Edward Hays officiated. Pallbearers were: Don Placke, james McGrath, Bernard Kennedy, George Bhear, Bud Larson, and Martin Krogman.
