Description	:	Mrs. Britty Thrasher Grant, age 80 years, passed away Wednesday evening, October 29th, at about 8:00 o'clock, at the Deer Creek (Indiana) nursing home, where she had been a patient for the past few weeks. Death followed an extended illness. Born near Francesville, Indiana, June 21, 1872, she was the eldest daughter of the last Stephen and Rachel (Gordon) Thrasher. Read More	Mrs. Britty Thrasher Grant, age 80 years, passed away Wednesday evening, October 29th, at about 8:00 o'clock, at the Deer Creek (Indiana) nursing home, where she had been a patient for the past few weeks. Death followed an extended illness. Born near Francesville, Indiana, June 21, 1872, she was the eldest daughter of the last Stephen and Rachel (Gordon) Thrasher. At an early age, she evinced a great desire to learn, and showed a great aptness at teaching others. At the age of 14 she was enrolled as one of the public school teachers of Pulaski county, and continued to teach in this vicinity for 22 years, always studying and working toward a college degree. She secured her A.B. degree at the Nashville College in 1922, after which time she filled many positions of trust and responsibility as high school principal and county superintendent of schools. Her last post as teacher was the chair of psychology in the Clarksville Teachers College, which she had to give up on account of ill health--having taught school for more than 40 years. On February 2, 1948, she was married to Ulysses S. Grant, in Texas. She was a member of the Christian church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband; one sister--Mrs. Carrie McClellan of Star City; one brother, Cyrus Thrasher of Francesville; beside other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon November 2nd, at two o'clock, with the Rev. Henry F. Bulger, pastor of the Francesville Christian Church in charge. The Francesville order of the Eastern Star also took part in the services. Burial was in Roseland cemetery, east of Francesville.
