Description	:	Bruce Allan Solberg was born on August 29, 1950 to Sidney and Lillian (Boland) Solberg at Mercy Hospital in Williston. He was raised on the family farm. He attended Ellsville grade school and Alamo High School graduating in 1969. While in high school, he played basketball and football. Read More	Bruce Allan Solberg was born on August 29, 1950 to Sidney and Lillian (Boland) Solberg at Mercy Hospital in Williston. He was raised on the family farm. He attended Ellsville grade school and Alamo High School graduating in 1969. While in high school, he played basketball and football. Throughout his school years, Bruce also was busy working on the family farm. After graduation, he attended Williston State College, Minot State College, and Wahpeton State College. At Wahpeton, he earned a welding certificate. Bruce was a skilled welder and frequently repaired and created his own farm machinery. He was often found in his shop working when he was not out in the fields. Bruce has two daughters from his first marriage to Cindy Monson. He was united in marriage to Marlene Schepp on December 6, 1980. They lived on the farmstead for several years before moving to Williston in 2002. Bruce farmed for several years in Divide County. He particularly enjoyed harvest and was employed as a custom harvester. There was always work to be done and he never missed a day’s work at the farm. Even when he was not feeling well, he worked hard and took care of farm business. Bruce was an avid hunter and fisherman. For several years, he took annual hunting trips with friends to Wyoming and fishing trips to Canada. These trips always made for good stories that he told for years after. He and Marlene ran a bed and breakfast for pheasant hunters for 10 years at the farm. Hunters from all over the United States would come and hunt with Bruce as their guide. This was an exciting time for him as he met many new people and took pride in introducing them to the beauty of Western North Dakota. In 1999, Bruce decided to pursue a new career. He attended Ridgewater College in Wilmar, MN and became an insurance adjuster. He traveled to several areas in the South and Southeastern United States following storms and hurricanes, including Katrina. He loved adjusting and made many life-long friends during his career. He was a member of United Lutheran Church, serving on the church and parish boards. He also was a member of the Elks Lodge in Williston. Bruce enjoyed socializing and could talk to anyone anywhere. He had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a joke and a smile. He was an active follower of current events and always was up for lively discussions no matter the topic. He possessed a sophisticated vocabulary and was a great conversationalist. Bruce thoroughly enjoyed being a grandfather and exposing his grandsons to country life and tractor rides. Bruce also loved his pets and his dogs were very well-traveled as they often accompanied him wherever he went. He is survived by his daughters; Tracey Willette(Jason) of Las Vegas, NV, Angie Solberg of Knoxville TN; his grandsons; Colin and Kelly Willette; sisters Sharon Yoder (Doyle) of Sacramento, CA; Elaine Olson (Claire) of Bismarck ND; brother Glenn Solberg(Donna) of Zahl; Marlene Solberg of Williston and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Sidney Solberg, mother Lillian Boland Nelson, step-father Lyle Nelson and several aunts and uncles. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Mercy Medical Center Hospice for the compassion and care they gave to Bruce in his final months. Fulkerson-Stevenson Funeral Home
