Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 13, at the Nevada United Methodist Church. Bruce was born to Joseph Dale and Josephine (Anderson) Heintz and graduated from Nevada High School with the class of 1966. He attended Iowa State University and served with the US Army. He was united in marriage on November 21, 1970 to Cynthia Jean Burnett. He owned and operated Nevada Pump Repair until 1983 then operated Southview Enterprises until his retirement in July 2003. He was past commander and life member of the American Legion Post #48, VFW, Nevada United Methodist Church, served on the Story County Veterans Affairs Commission for 17 years and also served on the Nevada Volunteer Fire Department and the Story County Sheriff’s Reserve. Bruce enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, shooting, golfing and flying. He is survived by his wife, Cyndie; daughters, Cassandra (Keith) Murra of Steamboat Rock, Christina (Paul) DeMeui of State Center and Amanda (Christopher) Donabella of San Diego, Ca.; son, Dustin of Washington, DC; and AFS son, Roger Lopez of Venezuela; his parents, Joe and Josephine Heintz of Nevada; brothers, Stephen (Delores) of Carrollton, Tx. dan (Judy), Lynn (LuAnn) and Gary, all of Nevada; and grandchildren, Emma and Grace deNeui, Ethan Murra, Gianna Donabella, and Amanda and Jake Lopez. Bruce is also survived by countless family and friends that loved him and will miss him. He is preceded in death by two infant granddaughters and his grandparents. Family and friends will hold a visitation from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, September 12 at the Nevada United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Triathlon, in which Dustin is participating. Other contributions may be made to the American Legion Flag fund or the United Methodist Building Fund. The Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
