Description	:	Bruce E. Meadows, 80, of 305 N. Fourth St., Eddyville, died at 7:40 pm March 12, 2011, at his home. He was born Feb. 16, 1931, in Ottumwa to Lyle J. and Velma L. Sourthard Meadows. He married Joann L. Thompson. They later divorced. He married Fontelle J. Leedom July 28, 1974. She preceded him in death June 25, 2009. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Bruce worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, which later became Soo Line, retiring as a conductor in 1995 after 33 years of service. Surviving are a daughter, Monica(Jerry Blazina)Leedom of Eddyville; three stepdaughters, Kathryn(Jim)Sullivan of Indianola, Molly(Michael)Grace of Oskaloosa and Karol(Bevan Hol)Shaw of Eddyville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gene Meadows of Woodbridge, Va.; and a sister, Marilyn Coffoman of Bluffton, S.C. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian; an infant daughter, Sharon; a grandson, Zach Murray; two sisters, Janis Meadows. Graveside sservices and bruial will be 1:30 pm Tuesday at Shaul Cemetery with Pastor Gene V. Anderson officiating. Visitation will open after 10 am Monday at the Reece Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iowa Hospice, Oskaloosa, Iowa.
