Description	:	Obituary for Bruce Emmett Wente Bruce E. Wente, 91, passed away Friday evening, May 1, 2015 at the Central Montana Medical Center after a short illness. He was born July 6, 1923 in Gilt Edge, MT on the family ranch to Anthony H. and Helen (Brummer) Wente. He was raised on Casino Creek south of Lewistown and attended the Cottonwood School and later graduated from Fergus High School. Wente, 91, passed away Friday evening, May 1, 2015 at the Central Montana Medical Center after a short illness. He was born July 6, 1923 in Gilt Edge, MT on the family ranch to Anthony H. and Helen (Brummer) Wente. He was raised on Casino Creek south of Lewistown and attended the Cottonwood School and later graduated from Fergus High School. Bruce ranched in the Christina area where he met his future wife Jean Blackwelder. They were married May 24, 1952 in Lewistown. The newlyweds moved to Cottonwood Creek where they made their home and had two sons, Bruce B. and Mike. Bruce is a past member of the Farm Bureau and the Lewistown Eagles. He served on many boards, including the ASCS, PCA, Farm Bureau and several school boards. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling and passed his love of the outdoors on to his family. Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; son, Bruce; father, Anthony; mother, Helen; stepmother, Mary; sister, Helen Tuggle; and stepbrothers, Robert and Jim Bowman. He is survived by his son Mike (Carla) Wente of Lewistown and grandson Hal Wente of Billings. At Bruce’s request, no services are planned and cremation has taken place. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home.
