Bruce was united in marriage to Ruth Paulson on July 23, 1951 at the Platte Christian Reformed Church. They made their home in Platte and he began his career in farming. Bruce was a member of the Platte Christian Reformed Church, Campbell-Timmerman American Legion Post #115, a Charter Member of East River Sportsmans Club and Charter Member of Pheasants Forever, also serving on the Platte Public School Board and Forbes Township Election Board. He enjoyed being outdoors while hunting and fishing. Bruce was preceded in death by: his parents, John S. and Anne Pranger; his father and mother-in-law, John A. and Marie Paulson; his twin brother, Beryl Pranger; a sister, Helen DeHaan-Rasmussen; and son-in-law, Drew Cooper.
