Description	:	Bruce M. Whitney, 69, of 131 South Elm Street, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the St. Joseph Hospital. He was the son of Hubert and Clara Bailey Whitney and was born June 10,1889 at Bladensburg. He had lived in Wapello County all of his life. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Bladensburg and Agency communities until15 years ago when he moved to Ottumwa. Whitney, 69, of 131 South Elm Street, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the St. Joseph Hospital. He was the son of Hubert and Clara Bailey Whitney and was born June 10,1889 at Bladensburg. He had lived in Wapello County all of his life. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Bladensburg and Agency communities until15 years ago when he moved to Ottumwa. He was a member of the Olive Lodge,A.F. & A.M. at Agency and Knights of Pythias No. 197 of Ottumwa. He was married in Ottumwa April 8, 1914, to Flora Hart, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Champ of Ottumwa; a son, Robert Whitney, of Sun Valley, Calif.; two grandsons; three sisters, Miss Nina and Miss Ruth Whitney, both of Bladensburg, and Mrs. Carolyn Halferty of Ollie;and five brothers, Lester Whitney of Sacramento, Calif., Eugene Whitney of American Lake, Wash., Hugh Whitney of Birmingham, Howard Whitney of Roosevelt, Wash., and Ray Whitney of Des Moines. An infant brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Earl McGinness of the Agency Methodist Church will be in charge. Burial will be in the Agency Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Halferty, Ralph Bunnel, George Oatman, Orrin Daggett, William Hart and Charles Hart."
