Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Ridgecrest Village. Private graveside services will be in Hisega, S.D., where he spent many happy summers with family and friends. Bruce Whiting Marcue was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Le Mars, the son of Carl and Mariah (Whiting) Marcue. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1947. He worked for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service and served as county extension director in both Woodbury and Ida counties. He was manager of the agriculture relations for Iowa Beef Processors in Dakota City. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church, the Kiwanis Club, The Boy Scouts of America, the Sioux City Planning and Zoning Commission, the Sioux City Chamber of Commerce, the Ida and Woodbury County Fair boards, the Cattlemen's Association and Iowa State Alumni, among others. He was a good father, husband, neighbor and a very good man. He is survived by his devoted and much loved wife, Lorma (Andrews) Marcue of Davenport; a son and his wife, Robert and Donna Marcus of Wayzata, Minn.; a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Pete Gilleece of Lewisetta, Va.; a stepson and his wife, Kenton and JoAnn Andrews of Chesapeake, Va.; a stepdaughter and her husband, Linda Andrews-Kappeyne and Martin Kappeyne of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Marcue. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to The Ridgecrest Village Koning Charitable Fund, 4130 Northwest Blvd., Davenport, IA. 52806. Marcue, Bruce W.
