Description	:	Mrs. Buena Lottie Sims Baker, 89, wife of William Calvin Baker, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 24, 2015, at her home surrounded by her beloved family. Mrs. Baker was born in Olanta, SC, on November 25, 1925, a daughter of the late John Bunyan and Zera McKenzie Sims. Buena graduated from high school in 1943 and one of her first jobs was as a typist for the supply clerk supplying ships at the Charleston Navy Yard. Read More	Mrs. Buena Lottie Sims Baker, 89, wife of William Calvin Baker, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 24, 2015, at her home surrounded by her beloved family. Mrs. Baker was born in Olanta, SC, on November 25, 1925, a daughter of the late John Bunyan and Zera McKenzie Sims. Buena graduated from high school in 1943 and one of her first jobs was as a typist for the supply clerk supplying ships at the Charleston Navy Yard. She also worked as a stenographer for Graham Insurance Agency and at Wentworth Manufacturing as a payroll clerk. Mrs. Baker was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Wallace Connor Sunday School Class and The Leila Epps Circle of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Three Rivers Historical Society and the Margaret Gregg Gordon Chapter of the DAR, had worked as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and as a volunteer in the gift shop at Williamsburg Regional Hospital. One of her most precious compliments was when her grandson Baker, who was about 5 or 6 years old, stood up in church on Mothers Day and said, "I am thankful Grandmama taught my mama how to be a good mama. "Surviving, in addition to her husband of 65 years of Greeleyville, SC, are: her daughters of Conway, Arkansas and of Greeleyville; 4 grandchildren of Conway, AR, Kingstree, and Florence, SC; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by a foster brother, George V. (Eva Dell) Sims, a brother Ray B. (Annie Lee) Sims, and sisters, Lois Sims and Gertie (DeLeon) Weaver.Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2015, in Kingstree United Methodist Church, with burial in Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery near Timmonsville, SC. Mrs. Baker's family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Monday at Williamsburg Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Kingstree United Methodist Church, 510 N. Longstreet Street, Kingstree, SC 29556 or Epworth Children's Home, PO Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250.
