(428955330) Buhlas Burgain Jennings, son of Chester and Lanah Jennings, was born near Monterey in Davis county on September 11, 1919, and departed this life at the St. Joseph hospital in Centerville, Iowa, January 21, 1947. Death came from complications following an attack of pneumonia. He was united in marriage to Miss Geneva Pearl Goldenstead, January 20, 1942, and to this union one son, Carl Lee, was born on Octotfer 2, 1942. His mother and one sister preceded him in death. After his mother died he made his home with his father, Chester Jennings, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Johnson. Buhlas and his wife were converted to the Christian faith and united with the Church of Christ at Monterey, March 12, 1941, where his membership was at the time of death. His passing came as a great shock to his many friends, relatives and neighbors. He leaves to mourn his death his companion, his son, his father who lives in Decatur, IL., stepmother, grandfather and stepgrandmother, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Johnson, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Goldenstead and Carl. Four uncles, Alva, of the state of Washington, George, of Unionville, Mo., Wendell, of near Centerville, John, of Decatur, 111., as well as two aunts, Mrs. Virgie Nunny, and Mrs. Nerva Stephens both of near Centerville, and a host of other relatives and friends are also left to grieve. Buhlas has so lived in the hearts of the people that his friends are measured by his acquaintances. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at Monterey, Thur sday, January 23 at 2 p. m., by W. F T. Evans, of Centerville. The church was too smaU to accommodate the large gathering of people. Rev. and Mrs. Quinten Johnson brought com forting messages in song.
