Her death was caused by a cancer of the bowels. She, with her husband who died 3rd mo. 5th 1887 came from Preble Co. Ohio in the 11th month 1879 and settled here is this district where they both died. To this union were born 13 children, two of whom are dead, one buried in California and one at Fruitland. Two are living in Ohio, one in Colorado, and the rest were in attendance at the funeral. Her suffering at times was almost unbearable, but with patience she waited for the time when all would be changed. She was a life long member of the Friends Church and gave evidence to the last that she still kept the faith, and held fast the truths that she had learned of her Savior as she journeyed through life. The funeral service was preached by Rev. Rice of Americus, at the Fruitland Church, Friday afternoon. A large concourse of friends and relatives followed the remains to its last resting place. Her age was 68 years, 7 months and 29 days.
