Jacobson was born Oct. 31, 1920, at the farmhouse in Section 17 of Fremont Township, Winneshiek County, the son of Bennie J. and Selma (Pederson) Jacobson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Fremont Lutheran Church, and attended Fremont Six School through eighth grade. On April 24, 1950, he married Elaine Watson at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Chester, Iowa. On April 24, 1950, he married Elaine Watson at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Chester, Iowa. Burdette spent most of his life farming and lived on the Jacobson Century Farm at the time of his death. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his children, Byron Jacobson of Cresco and Niane Meyer of Tama, Iowa; two grandchildren, John B. Meyer of Iowa City, and Chris Ann McIntire of Dubuque; a great-granddaughter, Rahne McIntire; along with five sisters; Stella Larson of St. Michael, Minn., Marlys Scheevel of Preston, Shirley Timmerman of Maple Lake, Minn., Wilda Middlebrook of Cresco and Norma Larsen of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cresco on Monday, Oct. 6, with Father Michael Tauke officiating. Interment was in St. Kerian's Cemetery, rural Cresco. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony, was in charge of arrangements.
