Mr. Duncan was born the son of Henry Hope Duncan and Irene Elliott Duncan on April 24, 1939 in Andrews. Read More	Mr. Burnett Rhett Duncan, 79, beloved husband of Bertha Johnson Duncan, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Duncan was born the son of Henry Hope Duncan and Irene Elliott Duncan on April 24, 1939 in Andrews. He was a former employee of Stone Construction and was a member of Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed farming and gardening. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished "Papaw", caring brother, and a loyal friend. His smile was contagious, his laughter uplifting, and his love for everyone was unconditional. Burnett and Bertha were married on July 15, 1961 and celebrated 57 years together. Their home was blessed with: two children, Rhett Allan (Mona) Duncan and Tammy D. (Rick) Ikner; two grandchildren, Amber I. (Wes) Sykes and Paige I. (Tim) Vigneaux; and three great-grandchildren, Autumn, Jacob, and Duncan. He also leaves behind: a brother, Rev. Donald (Virginia) Duncan; a sister, Lorraine D. Floyd; two sister-in-laws, Rebecca D. Hooper and Elizabeth Duncan; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews He was predeceased by: his parents; four brothers, Earl (Betty) Duncan, Rev. Henry (Mildred) Duncan, DD Duncan, and Rev. Elwood Duncan; and a sister, Dorothy D. (Carl) Merritt; and a brother-in-law, Theron Floyd. A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 112 North Magnolia Ave, Andrews, SC. Officiating will be Rev. Donald Duncan and Rev. Barry Wall. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Andrews Chapel, 610 South Rosemary Ave., Andrews, SC. The Duncan family would like to send a special "Thank You" to Hospice of Randolph County and the caregivers of Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center for their extended kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Duncan Family.
