Snyder, 73, of 1028 Sycamore street, a former Muscatine county auditor, died at 4:15 a.m. today at Muscatine General Hospital after an illness of one week. He was born Aug. 9, 1887 in Muscatine county, a of JOHN and PHOEBE GRIFFIN Snyder and had been a resident of Muscatine for 33 years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Letts and Kaaba Shrine at Davenport. Mr. Snyder served as Muscatine County Auditor in 1937 and 1938. Surviving are two sons, VAN B. Snyder of Muscatine, and ALTON D. Snyder, of San Diego Calif., a daughter, Mrs. John F. KINNERMANN of Arlington, Va., and one brother, CHESTR C. Snyder of Muscatine, along with seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. Burial will be at Letts.
