Description	:	Nov 3, 1910 Westphalia news: "A.H. Mace received word Wednesday morning of the death of his oldest son, Bert, in Washington State. Bert was operating his moving picture machine when an explosion occurred resulting in his death. Mr Mace started for Washington to bring the remains here for burial. Nov 10, 1910: "Cherry Mound: The funeral of Burton Mace was held here at the U.B.Church. On Oct 24th at Napavine, WA Bert Mace was killed by the explosion of a moving picture gas tank, as was Luther Lindsey. Bert was heating the gas tank about 7 pm preparatory... Bert was operating his moving picture machine when an explosion occurred resulting in his death. Mr Mace started for Washington to bring the remains here for burial. Nov 10, 1910: "Cherry Mound: The funeral of Burton Mace was held here at the U.B.Church. On Oct 24th at Napavine, WA Bert Mace was killed by the explosion of a moving picture gas tank, as was Luther Lindsey. Bert was heating the gas tank about 7 pm preparatory to filling it with gas for the machine operator, when the tank exploded. A part of the apparatus was blown through the wall, wrecking the building, demolishing the piano and breaking the glass in all the windows. The injured were put aboard the Shasta limited train, just then coming in, which was flagged and taken to Chehalia to the St. Helens hospital, Mace died 15 minutes after reaching the hospital and Lindsay about an hour later. Mace had both legs shattered. Lindsay had his right arm shattered and broken many times and a hold was torn in his side which exposed the intestines. Burton was born in Cloud Co., KS and was age 30y 2m 5d.
