Description	:	Burton Wade Lytle, 78, of Friendsville, MD, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at his residence. Born December 20, 1943, in Selbysport, MD, he was the son of the late Alvin and Lela (Fike) Lytle. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Lytle; four sisters, Sarah Leone Schroyer, Betty Lou Lytle, Alice Lohr and Ellen Dennis; and two infant siblings. Store and Gas... Read More	Burton Wade Lytle, 78, of Friendsville, MD, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at his residence. Born December 20, 1943, in Selbysport, MD, he was the son of the late Alvin and Lela (Fike) Lytle. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Lytle; four sisters, Sarah Leone Schroyer, Betty Lou Lytle, Alice Lohr and Ellen Dennis; and two infant siblings. Mr. Lytle was a Field Representative and Area Manager for Woodmen Life for over 20 years. He also worked for First United Bank, most recently as McHenry Branch Manager, owner/operator of Maxco, Inc. Store and Gas Station and International Tractor Sales, and a self-employed truck driver. He was a 1961 graduate of Northern High School and a graduate from Morgantown Business College receiving his A.A. degree. Burton was a U.S. Army veteran from '65-'67 as a Specialist 5. He held various offices in the Woodmen of the World, Chapter 45, Northern Garrett Rescue Squad and Accident Post 208, American Legion. He was the treasurer of Friendsville Veterans Memorial Fund and lifelong member of the Farmer's Wildlife Association of Asher Glade. Burton was a member of the Selbysport United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Knight) Lytle; two sons, Gregory (Aimee) and Edward (Sandy); one daughter, Jennifer (Steven) Glotfelty; one brother, David Alvin Lytle; eight grandchildren, Kelsey (Keith) Artice, Eddie (Kylie), Caleb (Kierstyn), Tori, Alexandria, Ryan, Emilee and Tucker; four great-grandchildren, Evie, Willow, Luke, Annalise and one great-grandson due in May 2022, Tatum; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friendsville, on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, March 4, 2022, 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Robinson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Matthews Cemetery.
