Description	:	C. Burke Bestpitch, age 81, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bestpitch was born in Washington, DC, a son of the late Lynwood and Bessie Bryan Bestpitch. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Emily J. Bestpitch. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bestpitch was employed by Decatur Press in Rockville, MD, for more than 45 years. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bestpitch was employed by Decatur Press in Rockville, MD, for more than 45 years. He was a 10 year veteran of the National Guard and was a Volunteer Fireman for more than 30 years with the Gaithersburg Washington Grove Fire Department. Mr. Bestpitch was also a member of the Eagle’s Club in Maryland. Survivors include: his son, Bret Bestpitch(Renee) of Osprey, FL; his daughter, Michele Holden(John) of Fairfield, PA; his sister, Barbara Thurber(Gene) of Chestertown, MD; and his grandchildren, Taylor Holden, Blake Holden, Dante Thompson, Isabellea Thompson, and Gabriellea Thompson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Danny Banks officiating. Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. ww.goldfinchfuneralhome.com
