Description	:	C.H. "Pete" Flowers, age 95, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his daughter’s residence. Pete was born in Conway, SC, a son of the late Pearley Flowers and Daisy Richardson Flowers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia B. Gray Flowers; his brother, Haskell Flowers; and his two sisters, Claudia Flowers and Elizabeth Bellamy. Pete retired from the US Armed Forces having honorably served in the US Navy from 1940-1946 and the US Army from 1947-1960. After his retirement, Pete worked in civil service for many years. Pete was born in Conway, SC, a son of the late Pearley Flowers and Daisy Richardson Flowers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia B. Gray Flowers; his brother, Haskell Flowers; and his two sisters, Claudia Flowers and Elizabeth Bellamy. Pete retired from the US Armed Forces having honorably served in the US Navy from 1940-1946 and the US Army from 1947-1960. After his retirement, Pete worked in civil service for many years. He loved to travel and see the world; especially the Blue Ridge Mountains, and was an avid reader. Pete also enjoyed working in his garden with his daughter, Barbara. Pete is survived by his second wife, Margaret Cribb Flowers; his five children; Barbara Fleming, Donald R. Flowers, Dorothy E. and her husband Stan Knickle, Janet M. Flowers, Edward L. and his wife Edna Flowers; his step-child, Glenn Cribb; his niece, Olivia Bibb; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2017 at Galivants Ferry Baptist Church with Rev. James Grubb officiating. http://www.goldfinchfuneralhome.com
