Description	:	C. Wallace Abercrombie, 89, formerly of 1122 Wallace Lodge Road, Gray Court, died April 6, 2004, at Laurens County Hospital. A native of Laurens County, he was the son of the late Hugh Homer and Dora Juanita Manley Abercrombie, and was the husband of the late Mary Fleming Skinner Abercrombie. He retired from Laurens County Sheriff's Department with 30 years of service, was a former member of Laurens County Council and Raburn Rural Water Commission, and was a former pitcher with the Textile Baseball League. A native of Laurens County, he was the son of the late Hugh Homer and Dora Juanita Manley Abercrombie, and was the husband of the late Mary Fleming Skinner Abercrombie. He retired from Laurens County Sheriff's Department with 30 years of service, was a former member of Laurens County Council and Raburn Rural Water Commission, and was a former pitcher with the Textile Baseball League. He was a member of Wallace Masonic Lodge #49, and was a member of Bramlett United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, George Reid Skinner, of Woodruff, and Yancy Lamar Skinner, of North Augusta; a sister, Edna A. Martin, of Laurens; three grandchildren, William Lamar (Billy) Skinner, of Enoree, Brent Parkman Skinner, of Lexington, and Wallace Brad Skinner, of Gray Court; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, James and Toy Abercrombie, and Homer Abercrombie Jr.; and three sisters, Selma Templeton, Dora Mae Pearson and Pairly Smith. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 8, 2004, at Forest Hills Funeral Home. Service: 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, at Bramlett United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dane Morehead. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
