SLOCOMB was born in Wilmot, N.S., Aug. 30, 1824, and shortly after serving his time at the blacksmith trade, he came to the Upper St. John, where he prospered in business and two years later married Miss Adeline BAKER. To them were born four sons and four daughters, all of whom are now living. In 1862 Mr. Slocomb removed with his family to Fort Fairfield, Me. In early life he professed faith in Christ and was baptized by Rev. Vidito in Clarence, N.S. He leaves a widow and eight children, four brothers and two sisters. Our brother was taken sick 2nd of last August. He was a member of the Eastern Frontier Lodge and Accepted Masons under whose direction the funeral took place at the Collins House, Sunday, May 21, 2 o'clock. - 'Northern Leader' to LorettaCaleb E.
