Description	:	Caleb Hannum, eldest child of Aaron Hannum and Rachel Smith, b. in Sept. 1749 in Belchertown, in the eastern end of Hampshire County, Mass. While Caleb left no known probate record, collateral records suggest he d. at Belchertown soon after the 6 August 1810 census. Unfortunately, the place of his burial has not been found. Caleb,5 Hannum (Aaron4, William3, John2, Williams1), of Belchertown, born at Cold Spring, now Belchertown, in September 1749, died at Lebanon, New London Co., Conn., 28 July 1789. He married first, 7 Dec. 1768, Lydia Warner, born probably at Northampton in 1750, daughter of Mark Warner, and secondly, 25 Nov. 1790, Abigail Drake, [who] died at Greenwich, Mass. (? Conn.), 6 Jan. 1834. Given that Caleb's five children by his second wife were born at Belchertown from 1791 to 1807, it is impossible that he died in Conn. in 1789 as stated in the above sketch. In addition, Caleb appears as a householder at Belchertown in the August 2, 1790, August 4, 1800 and August 6, 1810 federal censuses. On 7 Dec. 1768, Caleb m. (1) Lydia Warner, dau. of Mark Warner, 3rd and Experience Wright, b. probably at Northampton. The date of her birth (as well as the majority of her siblings) and the date of her death does not appear in any town record, but the date of 28 July 1789 attributed to husband Caleb's death in the above sketch may have been the date of Lydia's own death. She is named as an heir in her father's May 1755 will at Northampton proving who were her parents. Caleb and Lydia had 10 children recorded in the Belchertown town records: Achsah (John D. Curtis, Aaron (d. unm.), Josiah, Esther (Levi Park), Othniel, Charlotte (Gaius Hannum), Lydia (Eleazer Stanley), Caleb Jr., Rachel (d. unm.) and Mark (d. unm.) On 25 Nov. 1790, Caleb m. (2) Abigail Drake, dau. of Jonah Drake and Sarah Ward, b. 1 Mar. 1770 at Stafford, Conn. According to the Belchertown town records, she was living in 1840. They had 5 children also recorded in the Belchertown town records: Perez, Charles, Sophia (1st wife of Hart Newcomb), Sarah (2nd wife of Hart Newcomb) and Park.
