Calista was born on Dec. 25, 1908, at the Gaul family farm near Luxemburg, the daughter of Nicholas and Rosa (Mock) Gaul. Calista was united in marriage to Leander Boge on Oct. 3, 1933, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg. Together they were parents to four children: Kathleen, Joan, James and Kenneth. She and her husband farmed for many years. Her hobbies included baking, crocheting, knitting and quilting. Many of her grandchildren enjoyed her baked cinnamon rolls and holiday decorated sugar cookies, afghans and quilts. Calista and Leander also enjoyed fishing, spending time in Florida and Texas to pursue this hobby. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother to 28 children, 51 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and four step great-granddaughters. Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters and 2 son-in-laws of Manchester and of Farley; one son of Manchester; one daughter in law of Manchester; one sister; one sister-in-law; 27 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leander; son, Kenneth; a daughter-in-law, Rita Boge; granddaughter, Jeanne Boge; and great-granddaughter, Jill Wilwert. Her siblings and their spouses, Monica and Wm. Engelken, Rita and Bernard Trenkamp, Sister Mary Crescentia, George and Alice Gaul, Alphonse and Regina Gaul, Amanda and Lawrence Lansing, Nicholas and Anna Gaul, Cletus and Dorothy Gaul, Joseph and Stella Gaul, William and Germaine Gaul, LaVern and Viola Gaul, an infant brother, Vincent and Clarence Pasker; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rosella and Phillip Gravel, Lucille and Reynold Kramer, Dolores and Joseph Gravel, Bernice and Clarence Riesberg, Mary Ann and Art Loeffelholz, Frank Milbert, Elmer and Olga Boge, LuVerne and Monica Boge and James Pins.
