Mrs. Collins was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Carroll County, Va., to Daniel Webster Hundley and Mary Ann Bowen Hundley. She retired from J.P. Stevens & Co. after 25 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Bickett Hill; and two brothers, Paul Clarence Hundley and Carlos Lee Hundley. Surviving are her husband, Elmer Collins of Pilot Mountain; her sons, C.W. Hill of Pilot Mountain and Barry Hill of Taylorsville; a granddaughter, Santana Coalson of Dobson; a stepdaughter, Joy Collins of Pilot Mountain; her sisters, Margie Goins of Pelzer, S.C., Alma Bingman of Westfield, Thelma Newton of Hickory and Barbara Collins of Westfield; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Hundley of Pilot Mountain and Betty Atkins of Mount Airy; and a special friend and caregiver, Anna Lee Kidd of Asbury. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Howell Funeral Chapel in Pilot Mountain, with the Rev. Odell Sisk and Brother J.K. Faries officiating. Interment will follow at Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 25, at the funeral home.
