The son of Harry H. and Bertha (Lee) Nigh, he was born November 4, 1924, in Longford, KS. He married Betty Lou Marple on March 27, 1959, in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver for much of his life. He was a minister for 55 years, with affiliations with Pentecostal churches in Council Grove and Junction City, KS. Read More	CALVIN LEROY NIGH Calvin Nigh, age 90, of Cottonwood Falls, KS, died Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove, KS. The son of Harry H. and Bertha (Lee) Nigh, he was born November 4, 1924, in Longford, KS. He married Betty Lou Marple on March 27, 1959, in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver for much of his life. He was a minister for 55 years, with affiliations with Pentecostal churches in Council Grove and Junction City, KS. In his later years, he salvaged scrap metal. He enjoyed auctions and never really retired. He is survived by his wife of the home; a son, James H. Nigh, of Strong City, KS; two daughters: Mary Ann Paris and her husband, Martin, of Newton, KS and Linda S. Freeman and her husband, Bobby, of Benton, AR; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Vernon Marple, of Emporia; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Marcus Nigh, Harry Nigh, James Nigh, and Eddie Nigh; three sisters: Mary Ann Nigh, Jo Ann Nigh, and Erma Hoffner; and a great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Faith Burnett. He has been cremated and the family will have private services at a later date. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Council Grove, KS. Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls is in charge of arrangements. Condolence messages may be left with the funeral home.
