Description	:	Calvin Otto Topp, 88, of Macomb, formerly of Grace City, North Dakota, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. He was born on April 16, 1925 in Grace City, North Dakota to Otto and Anna Voigt Topp. He married Alva Sloan Kearns on February 22, 1976. She passed away on March 14, 1996. He is also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Theodore, and sisters; Myrtle Nelson and Esther Kopp Swain. He was born on April 16, 1925 in Grace City, North Dakota to Otto and Anna Voigt Topp. He married Alva Sloan Kearns on February 22, 1976. She passed away on March 14, 1996. He is survived by one niece; Myrtle Anne Kopp (Richard) Vick of Macomb, great-nephew; Christopher (Donnamarie) Vick of Nashua, New Hampshire, and great-nieces, Susan (Patrick) Denecke of Macomb and Betsy (Charles Tackett) Vick, of Clarksville, Indiana. Calvin attended school in Grace City and Columbia Township Consolidated. He was in the US Army in 1945 and 1946 and later attended NDSU in Fargo, North Dakota. He was a lifelong farmer in Eddy and Foster counties until his retirement in 1975. Calvin was the first president of the Eddy County NFO, a member of the Columbia Township Board for 19 years, past president of the FOE, and a member of the Dakota Central Telephone Co-op Board for 21 years. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. June 15, 2013 at the Federated Church in Carrington, North Dakota. Burial will be in the Grace City Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. There will be a dinner for attendees in the Community room at the School House Cafe after the committal service. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of local arrangements.
