Description	:	Calvin Newberry Dead C. R. Newberry, who has been suffering from stomach trouble for some months, was taken violently ill at 10 o'clock last Sunday night and died at 3 Monday morning, July 4th, 1927. His death occurred at the home of his son, Orley, on the Newberry homestead at Laurel Dell a few miles northwest of Danbury. Hemorrhage of the brain was the cause of death. Calvin R. His death occurred at the home of his son, Orley, on the Newberry homestead at Laurel Dell a few miles northwest of Danbury. Hemorrhage of the brain was the cause of death. Calvin R. Newberry was born in the state of Ohio, on June 8th, 1864[1849]. While still young he moved to Mason City, Illinois. He was married to Harriet Hovey, January 28, 1869. To this union were born seven children. Mr. Newberry moved with his family to Fillmore County, Nebraska, in 1873 and five years later (1883) they moved to Red Willow County and settled on the homestead where he has since lived. He died July 4th, 1927 aged 78 years, and 26 days. Two daughters Sarah and Irene preceded him in death in 1837, and one son, L. D. Newberry on Marion, Nebr., died September 16, 1925. Edith Ruby and Minnie Lehn of Danbury, Isa Ball of Elizabeth, Colo., and C. O. Newberry with whom he was living at the time of his death are left to mourn his death. Mrs. Newberry died January 16, 1921. Funeral services for Mr. C. R. Newberry were held at the home of his son, C. O. Newberry Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Rev. Jas. Mason. Mrs. Byron Everist, Mrs. H. A. Crearman, George Thomas and Absolem Gregory furnished the music accompanied by Mrs. E. F. Ervin. The old family organ was used as it was Mr. Newberry's favorite style of music. Mr. Newberry was laid to rest in the Danbury Cemetery beside his wife. The pallbearers were old neighbors whom had known Mr. Newberry for forty years or more. Mr. Newberry was a man of any friends and no enemies. His pleasant face and kindly manner will be greatly missed in the community. The Sentinel extends sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
