Description	:	HUDSON, Colo. — Calvin S. Christensen, 61, Hudson, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, in Hudson. He was born in Estelline, S.D., on March 25, 1953, to Nels and Bettie Christensen. Calvin attended high school in Bryant, S.D. He later graduated from the Lake Area Vo-Tech School in South Dakota. He began working in Milbank, S.D., for the Caterpillar machinery dealer and later for Pierre Irrigation. In 1981, Calvin moved to Colorado to work in the irrigation industry. Christensen, 61, Hudson, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, in Hudson. He was born in Estelline, S.D., on March 25, 1953, to Nels and Bettie Christensen. Calvin attended high school in Bryant, S.D. He later graduated from the Lake Area Vo-Tech School in South Dakota. He began working in Milbank, S.D., for the Caterpillar machinery dealer and later for Pierre Irrigation. In 1981, Calvin moved to Colorado to work in the irrigation industry. He worked for Isbell Irrigation in Sterling in 1981 and 1982. He was employed by Front Range Valley Irrigation in Greeley from 1983 to 1985. From 1985 to 1990, Cal worked for Moser Farms near Hudson. In 1991, he formed his own company called Cal’s Irrigation. He worked with Cal’s Irrigation from 1985 to the present repairing and installing center pivot irrigation systems for many northern Colorado farmers. He had a 30-year affiliation with Valley Irrigation of Greeley working as a subcontract serviceman. In 1984, Calvin married Gwyn Finch. They later divorced. Calvin is survived by his sister, Melissa Christensen from South Dakota and Gwyn’s son, Jacob of Grand Junction. He also leaves many loving friends. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Nels and Bettie and his sister Joy Petersen. He will be dearly missed by his sister and close friends. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 at the Erlinger Cremation & Funeral Service, 806 Denver Ave., Fort Lupton, Colo., 80621.
