Description	:	Candace Winebarger, daughter of John and Laura Winebarger, was born Oct. 1, '83, and died April 29, '97, aged 13 years, 7 months and 28 days. Candace was truly a good girl. She was so lovely, docile and amiable of disposition, and was bright beyond her years. But that dread disease consumption is doing its work. Read More	Candace Winebarger, daughter of John and Laura Winebarger, was born Oct. 1, '83, and died April 29, '97, aged 13 years, 7 months and 28 days. Candace was truly a good girl. She was so lovely, docile and amiable of disposition, and was bright beyond her years. But that dread disease consumption is doing its work. So, after an illness of some eighteen months, her soul was set at liberty, and she sweetly fell asleep in Jesus. How patient, how very patient, through all her sufferings. It was all born without a murmur or complaint. But life, with all that life means with her, will soon be past. How foreibly she seems to realize it! She tells father and mother so. She is deeply concerned and expresses some fears as to her condition; desires prayers, etc., But Oh! how soon the scene is changed. The darkness is dispelled, the light breaks in and she is happy in a Savior's love. Only two weeks more and all is over. But how oft during that time do we hear her speak of death as a relief, of Heaven as a home, and entreat her loved ones, especially her father, to meet her in that bright clime. We see her even in the throes of death. There, she again asks us to pray with her, after which she said: "I'll soon be at rest." and told her mother not to grieve. Then, soon afterward, she falls asleep with out a struggle. So may we ever be as trustful as she, as conscious of sins forgiven, that we may find an entrance through the gates into the city, where we shall enjoy her companionship forever and ever. A. E.
