Kramer peacefully passed from this life Friday morning, Oct. 26, 2007, at Seneca District Hospital located in Chester. Cappy fought a courageous battle with cancer. Cappy was born 91 years ago in Nevada City, May 16, 1916 to the late Ray and Mae (Fischer) Kramer. He spent his early youth in Nevada City before moving to Richmond, where he graduated from Richmond High School as a member of the "Class of 1934." Throughout his youth, Cappy spent memorable summers in the Sierra Nevada community of Downieville. Cappy entered the Merchant Marines and served his country honorably during World War II as a first mate, transporting supplies along the dangerous North Atlantic route. While bowling one day, Cappy met a pretty young lady named, Minnie Eilers. Their love for one another grew and the two were united in matrimony in San Rafael, on Oct. 3, 1964. The family moved to the northeastern Sierra Nevada community of Lake Almanor in 1967 and enjoyed their lives together for the past 40 years. A man of many different trades he was most proud of his career with Jullard-Alpha Co. as a liquor salesman, retiring after 25 years representing the company. Cappy found joy in spending time in the outdoors, whether cutting firewood, boating, fly fishing the lakes and streams of the area or playing his beloved game of golf. He was a longtime member of the Lake Almanor Country Club Men's Club and a former member of the Elks Lodge. In passing Cappy leaves his loving wife, Minnie, of 43 years of Lake Almanor; son Cappy J. Kramer and dear friend Wanda Butler of Willow Creek; daughter Nancy and husband Rick Jevons of Aptos; and two precious grandchildren, Corinna and Zachary Jevons. Cappy joins in his eternal home his daughter, Jerilyn Stacey, who passed from this life in 1969. Visitation and sharing took place Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at the Fehrman Mortuary Chapel in Chester. A celebration of Cappy's life, to include military honors will take place graveside at Chester District Cemetery. An opportunity to express condolences and sign the memorial guest register is available online at fehrman.com.
