Lieutenant Rader has destroyed two Nazi planes and has blasted numerous ground targets during operations over enemy territory. The 21-year-old flyer recently rejoined his group in England after having been forced down in the English Channel during D-Day operations. The Findlay flyer pilots a P-38 Lightning fighter and has been operating on high level bombing missions behind German lines. The 8th Fighter Company with which Lieutenant Rader flies with was one of the first Lightning groups to employ the new precision bombing technique. Lt. Benjamin N. Rader served in the Eighth Air Force.
