He was born in Cornwall, Litchfield Co., Connecticut on December 30, 1735. He married Sarah Pierce and moved with his family to New Hampshire. He fought in the Battle of Bennington, Vermont in the Revolutionary War. He died in 1799 in Piermont, Grafton Co., New Hampshire.
