Description	:	Moses Patterson organized a company of men from Adams County at the very beginning of the Civil War. He was made Captain of the company (designated as Company D) which mustered into the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment in early June, 1861, and departed for western Virginia on July 26. Patterson, of Adams county, who died recently in Virginia, was buried in this place Saturday last, with the honors of war.
