Description	:	Samuel, the third son of John Vinton ( 1650-1727) and Hannah Green ( 1660-1741). Samuel married Elizabeth French, March 22, 1720-1721. Elizabeth was the daughter of Dependence French and Rebecca Fenno. Samuel was a 'bloomer' or blacksmith. He inherited his father's estate in Woburn but came to Braintree in 1729 where he purchased land in present Randolph on North St. and on North & So. Main Sts. He was elected surveyor of highways 1731, 1737 & 1749, constable 1734 but was excused, tithingman for the South Precinct 1739, was on the Fish Committee 1743,1753, on a committee to instruct the Representative 1744, fenceviewer 1746, constable 1751 but was excused from serving. Administration: Died intestate. Elizabeth Vinton, widow & son David Vinton of Stoughton made administrators of Capt. Samuel Vinton, gent., Aug.6,1756. Heirs who agreed to divide the estate among themselves were: David Vinton, John Vinton, Joseph Mann, Seth Turner & David Linfield, sons & sons in law, and Elizabeth wife of Joseph Mann, Rebecca wife of Seth Turner & Hannah wife of David Linfield. Samuel Vinton, eldest son has been absent nearly 18 years and is presumed to be dead, but was to have a share if it should appear that he was alive at the time of his father's death.
